SUSTAINABLE TEXTILE CREATION

We seek to foster safe spaces free from gender-based violence. We focus on supporting and assisting small businesses and entrepreneurs seeking to promote gender equality, contribute to economic growth with a gender perspective, and preserve cultural knowledge and practices. This project seeks to continue developing training and collaborative work to improve the environment and quality of life of the most vulnerable communities.

Technical advice

In collaboration with the Almawa Association, we provide technical advice on sustainable and creative fashion, fair trade, and gender-sensitive economics. Thanks to this technical support, Almawa has held sustainable fashion presentations featuring pieces created by women from various artisan associations nationwide, showcasing their pieces in creative and innovative ways. They have also participated in forums on slow fashion and sustainable fashion.

Gender approach

Thanks to the work carried out by the Almawa Association, the women of the association have received workshops on the prevention of gender violence and sexual and reproductive health with the collaboration of the Women's Network of Imbabura, through the menstrual education program.

Activities under construction

The Almawa Association is collaborating with Irradiart (Swiss artist), to develop the ALMA capsule collection (2025), applying the technique of weaving, hand painting, embroidery with natural fibers, fusing several artisan techniques
